Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials Call for Papers
The Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials Conference is seeking papers covering the numerous developments that have taken place since it was last held in conjunction with WorldPM2014, World Congress on Powder Metallurgy and Particulate Materials. Montréal, Canada, is gearing up to host the Tungsten2020 conference, alongside two additional co-located powder metallurgy and additive manufacturing conferences, at the Montréal Convention Center on June 27–July 1, 2020. The abstract submission deadline is November 15, 2019.
Papers are sought in the following topic areas:
- Refractory and Hardmaterials
- Powder Production
- Processing/Properties/Microstructure/Performance
- Mechanical Behavior
- Computational Approaches
- Systems Integration
- Other
“It’s been six years since the last Tungsten, Refractory & Hardmaterials Conference, and a lot has happened in the industry in that time period, so we’re expecting this year’s technical program to be particularly robust,” stated John Johnson, FAPMI. “Environmental and safety standards and additive manufacturing using refractory metals are two hot topics that we plan on exploring throughout the conference.”
Refractory metals (W, Mo, Re, Ta, Nb, Os, Ir, Hf), their alloys and composites (including hardmaterials and cermets), are a unique family of materials. This conference seeks to address recent developments in the refractory and hardmetals field and will encompass refractory and hardmetal processing, microstructure, properties, and applications.

WorldPM2020, World Congress on Powder Metallurgy & Particulate Materials, is the only global conference on powder metallurgy (PM) and particulate materials and a hub for technology transfer for professionals from every part of the industry, including buyers and specifiers of: metal powders, tooling and compacting presses, sintering furnaces, furnace belts, powder handling and blending equipment, quality control and automation equipment, particle-size and powder-characterization equipment, consulting and research services, and much much more. This global conference is held in North American every six years.
The Additive Manufacturing with Powder Metallurgy Conference (AMPM2020) brings together global experts presenting the latest developments in this fast-growing field. The latest technical advances in 3D printing materials, processes and applications will be showcased.
